Terms of Use
Short, because there is not much to agree to.
Free to use, including commercially. Whatever you generate is yours. Nothing here is guaranteed to be correct, so do not make it the only copy of anything you cannot lose.
What you may do with it
Use the tools for anything, personal or commercial, as often as you like. Values you generate belong to you. There is no attribution requirement, no licence to accept and no limit on how many times you press a button.
You do not need permission to link to any page here, to quote from one with a link back, or to recommend the site to other people.
What is not promised
The site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It is written carefully — every generator has unit tests, published figures are asserted against real output, and sources are quoted rather than paraphrased — but careful is not the same as guaranteed.
Software has bugs, including this software. A generator can be wrong in ways its tests do not catch. Nothing on this site should be treated as advice for your specific system, and no page here can know what your threat model actually is.
One practical warning worth more than the rest
Nothing you generate here is stored anywhere, including by us. If you generate a key, close the tab and have not saved it, it is gone permanently and cannot be recovered by anyone.
Put anything important into a password manager or another place you control before you leave the page. This is a consequence of the privacy design rather than an oversight.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using this site or anything it produces — including lost data, lost access, a compromised account or a business consequence of any of those.
The site is free, collects nothing and holds nothing of yours. The practical exposure on both sides is close to nil, which is why this section is two sentences rather than two pages.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use the tools to attack, impersonate or gain unauthorised access to anyone.
- Scrape the site automatically. Everything is static — clone the pages if you need them offline.
- Mirror the site in a way that presents it as this one, or that removes the trademark notice below.
- Wrap the tools in something that sends generated values to a server. That would invert the one property the site exists for.
Trademarks
OnePassword.net is an independent free online generator toolkit. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to 1Password or AgileBits, Inc.
"1Password" is a trademark of AgileBits Inc. Any other product or company name mentioned on this site — for example bcrypt, Argon2, or a specification maintained by NIST, the IETF or the EFF — belongs to its respective owner and is named only to describe or cite it. None of them endorses this site.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies; there is no account to notify, so this page is the notice.
Governing law
No jurisdiction is specified. The site is free, has no accounts, takes no payment and collects no personal data, so naming a court would add formality without adding clarity. Your local consumer law applies to you as it normally would, and nothing here tries to remove a right you have under it.
